The St. Philip’s College Child Development Center has announced they will offer free virtual summer activities for children and student parents from June 8 through July 31 via Zoom. Early childhood professionals will also be available throughout the weekdays for parenting advice.

Guidance for parents includes topics in potty training, redirection, managing child tantrums, child decision making and contingencies. Programming for children will offer nature-based scavenger hunts, virtual picnics, virtual field trips around the world, music movement lessons to encourage physical activity and virtual storytime. Program sessions will align with the Texas Education Agency and the Texas Early Learning Standards for children 0-3 years old.

Materials offered for student parents will encompass interactive PowerPoints focusing on early childhood education standards, best practices for routines and language development.
